Need advice/tips from other men on how they coped with going bald.?

Never thought i would grow old.

seems i am.

i can feel male pattern baldness in the wind, sneaking up on me like a raider.

it makes me sad and i dislike this new feeling of mortality.

Fellow males, how did you cope with watching your hair start to leave you?Need advice/tips from other men on how they coped with going bald.?
My husband loves it. He used to have one of those fake hair things, but not anymore. He's as free as a bird, and he doesn't have to worry about styling it, gluing it, going swimming, etc. I say he's ';Coped'; very well.Need advice/tips from other men on how they coped with going bald.?
My expereince has been positive...When I was in high school and in my 20s I always got compliments about how thick, and great looking my hair was. Around age 28, it started to thin out. Guys at the gym would come up to me and tell me their ';secrets'; of dealing with thinning hair. Guys that I didn't even know, as if they were trying to help me out. I would laugh, because I seriously never worried about it.

Finally, about 3 years ago, it got to the piont where it didn't look attractive, so I shaved my head. I now shave about every 3 days. Takes a quick 5 minutes. Actually, I am told I look sexy with my bald head. I get hit on by both men and women, and I'm happy that people think I'm goodlooking. I'll take a compliment wherever I can get it!
Just keep your hair cut really short. And remember that many girls think bald guys are sexy.
It sucked then, it still sucks now. I wish these scientists would get to it already, wtf!!!! I shave my head every other day cause it grows too fast. It just don't grow where I'd like it to. It's an inverted mohawk! Grrrrr. How am I dealing with it? Not well. I started going bald at 18 and I'm 36 now. Fortunately people tell me I look great bald and they say I wouldn't look as good with hair. But for everyone else who won't look good with a shaved head....I feel for you all the time. I can relate and I am praying for a cure. Avacor or Rogain is your best bets right now. I miss my hair. People always try to give words of encouragement but I don't think they'd cope very well if they lost THEIR freakin hair.
I for one never have to worry about going bald but for all the men who do I suggest that you take a look at the world today and notice that all the sexy men are bald and if not they shave their heads to appear bald. Being bald is the sexy thing in to days world. bald is beautiful except in the pubic area
i kinda freaked at first, but that didn't make my hair grow back.I'm not totally bald, just real thin on top.to cope all i did was say,OK time to buy a head shaving kit.worrying about it isn't going to make it grow back,so keep that in mind.it also hasn't changed my sex life either.
just get a new hair style to go along with it or if u dont wanna do that shave ur head then u wont have to worry about balding.

best thing to do
When I was in my 20's I worked in a greenhouse for a couple years and became the cheif sprayer on weekends when no one else was there. I never had proper protective clothing. I noticed after a couple weeks when I showered I was losing more hair than normal. I also found out that baldness skips a generation, my grandad on my dad's side had a fringe of hair on his 50th wedding pictures. I've got male pattern baldness due to both reasons mentioned, (both brothers have great hair) I just accept it.

Hint 1: if you have your hair trimmed on a regular basis it is not as noticable. Those around you are used to it and strangers never knew any difference.

Hint 2: don't grow your hair long, believe me it looks rediculous.

Hint 3: don't do comb overs, anyone can tell and if there is a breeze . . ..

Hint 4: don't start wearing hats unless it's cold or raining out, you eventually have to take it off and then your hair or lack of it is more noticable (self concious to you).

Hint 5: use humour. I've had my hair trimmed by the different barbers when I've had to go a long time without one and have had mentioned to me, ';your thin there, how do you want it, a comb over . . .?'; I respond, ';Thanks for pointing that out, no, just a trim; God giveth and God taketh away.';

Hint 5: If some smart *** draws it to my attention I respond, ';you know what they say about balding men and their sex eh?'; and leave it at that.

Generally when someone else draws your baldness to your attention it is because they have a low self esteem of themselves because they are thinning, over weight, unpopular, etc. themselves and want to draw attentention away from themselves.
nothing. its part of life. but if i see myself starting to get bald then ill do something about it. im not gonna let myself go bad ehhh
It happens and its part of life. Don't let it get you down too much. Besides just shave your head if you don't feel like standing out too much. Its weird because like if you got bald spots women notice but if you wax your head constantly its considered sexy.
I felt very bad when I first noticed. But now I have shaved it all off and feel free.
